![]() As more evidence mounts, the number of potential ghost types reduces until only one remains or the team is able to reasonably guess the type of ghost based on its behavior. These tools allow the team to narrow down the list of ghost types with the evidence choices of getting replies from the spirit box, seeing writing in the spirit book, detecting an EMF level 5 reading, detecting freezing temperatures, seeing ghost orbs, or finding ghost finger or handprints. On the other side are items like EMF readers that can be used to track where the ghost has interacted with an object or a spirit box that can be used to ask the ghost questions with the hope of getting a reply (or more realistically, not getting a reply). On one side of the spectrum are items such as candles that are used as a continuous light source to help combat the sanity drain mechanic or smudge sticks that can restrict the ghost’s movement around the house. The tools of the trade for the ghost hunting team range from primitive to modern and mystical to scientific. When three pieces of information are confirmed, the type of ghost can be determined and all surviving players can escape to the truck to ghost hunt another day. After placing various ghost-measuring tools, the team can either retreat to the truck to observe the tools on a remote camera viewing terminal or stick around in the house to use the tools that require the players to directly activate them around the ghost. Within that period of time, excluding one ghost type, the team is free to roam about the house to try to locate the room that the ghost has taken up residence in, and once located, this room becomes centerstage for the remainder of the investigation. ![]() ![]() With all team members ready to go, the team enters the house, starting the 5 minute setup phase. After the team arrives on-site, the random optional objects are listed along with the one constant objective to identify the spook. Before everyone on the team does a ready up, each team member is allowed to pitch in some of their paid-for inventory to help the team’s overall effectiveness to go along with the host’s built-in tools. The basic flow of any given round is that all of the players meet in a lobby, and one member of the team is chosen to select a location from a group of randomly generated sites. With that information, the team can deduce the type of ghoul and get out with their lives. In Phasmophobia, a team of ghost hunters are sent on assignment to a building that is experiencing a bit of a spookening with the goal of making contact with the spirit to determine its characteristics. As usual with these patches, there is a list of bug fixes as well.Ĭurrently, there doesn’t seem to be any word about whether Phasmophobia will be adding any new maps yet, which is what many have been waiting for.Phasmophobia is a cooperative, investigative, edge-of-your-seat, early access game from developer and publisher Kinetic Games.
